Our Curriculum

At Faavae Mautu Aoga Amata, our curriculum is shaped by Te Whāriki — Aotearoa New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum.

We provide a learning environment that is child-led, play-based, culturally grounded, and spiritually supportive.

How we live this curriculum

wellness o tamaiti

Wellbeing Mana Atua

Children feel safe, loved, and secure. Daily routines support emotional and physical wellbeing in a nurturing space.

belonging at FAA

Belonging Mana Whenua

Children develop a strong sense of identity through the rhythms of fa‘a Samoa and Māori as tangata whenua.

Contribution Mana Tangata

We encourage tamaiti to take part, make choices, and express themselves with confidence.

communicating well

Communication Mana Reo

Through storytelling, conversation, music, and prayer, we support our children’s first languages, Samoan and English.

fanau exploring

Exploration Mana Aotūroa

Through play, children ask questions, solve problems, and discover — guided by kaiako and whānau.

Our approach embraces both the Samoan worldview and the foundational values of Te Whāriki.
We believe this gives children a deep sense of belonging, pride in who they are, and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to their families, schools, and communities.
